Established in 2005 by a range of shareholders from across the Gulf region, Dana Gas has become the largest private sector natural gas company in the Middle East with operations focusing on the Kurdistan Region of Iraq and Egypt.[1] As of early 2013, Dana Gas was the sixth largest natural gas producer in Egypt[2] and produced gas, LPG, condensate and crude oil at an average rate of 33,200 barrels of oil equivalent per day.[3]

Dana Gas is mainly active in the upstream sector (exploration and production). The company directly operates production, exploration and developments in its concessions in the Nile Delta and is active in Upper Egypt through KOMOMBO, a joint venture of which it holds a 50 percent share. Dana Gas also has a 26.4 percent interest in the Egyptian Bahrain Gas Derivatives Company (EBGDCo), a joint venture which was established to create an LPG extraction plant at Ras Shukhier on the Gulf of Suez.[4]
