Overview

FAR is an independent oil and gas exploration company with a focus on Africa.[4] Originally incorporated as First Australian Resources, the company changed its name to FAR in 2010.[5] In 2011, FAR took over Flow Energy Limited.[6] FAR currently holds assets in countries in East and West Africa, including Kenya, Senegal and Guinea Bissau, and has licences in nine exploration blocks[7] FAR recently signed an agreement with ConocoPhillips and Cairn Energy, to secure funding for drilling in Senegal in 2014.[8] It has been estimated that two of FAR's nine blocks could contain up to 7 billion barrels worth of oil.[9]

FAR is not an EITI supporting company.
