Profile

SPC-operated Karatchuk was the site of Syria's first oil discovery and is located near the border with Iraq and Turkey.[1] The field was discovered by an American company in 1956 and produced heavy grade oil.[2]

The Karatchuk field is now approaching maturity and contributing to Syria's dwindling production output.[3]
