According to the official website of the Kimberley Process, Ghana is one of the countries that meets the minimum requirements of the KP Certification Scheme.[1]

However Ghana was suspended from exporting rough diamonds between the 24 November 2006 - 5 December 2006 to ensure that suitable measures were put in place after the country was accused by the United Nations of weakness in its internal controls in the implementation of the Kimberley Process Certification Scheme (KPCS). It was alleged that diamonds could be being smuggled from rebel-held areas in the Cote d'Ivoire through Ghana to international markets.[2]
