In November 2010 the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) contracted oil services company Technip to build the initial phase of the Natural Gas Transportation and Processing Project (NGTPP), located 60km off the Ghanaian coast. The pipeline was to be connected to a further pipeline and used to pipe natural gas from the offshore Jubilee Field to a planned onshore processing plant. Installation operations were scheduled to begin in late 2010.[1] Bidding for the second phase of the project was due to begin in May 2011.[2]
