About ResourceProjects.org

The ResourceProjects.org is an online platform of open data on extractive industry managed by the Natural Resource Governance Institute (NRGI). The project aims to harvest data on project-by-project payments to governments based on recent mandatory disclosure legislation in the EU, Norway, US and Canada as well as in EITI reports. It then links that data to “associated information such as project location and status, associated contracts, companies and licenses from a variety of government and industry sources”. The data available in the platform is useful for journalists, CSOs, researchers and government officials as it enables users to search and download relevant data originating from various sources.[1]

Source Type

The data available in the platform are sourced from the UK Mandatory payment disclosure; French Mandatory payment disclosure; Government report; Extractive company report; Voluntary payment disclosure; International organization report; EITI; Government report; and other authoritative source from 2006 to 2016. Data are categorised from countries, companies, commodities, contracts, concessions, sites and fields.[2]
