As of December 2008 Tanganyika Oil Company Limited operates as a subsidiary of Sinopec International in Syria. The company owns interests in the Oudeh block, with 59 wells, and Tishrine and Sheikh Mansour fields with 72 wells.[1]

The Sinopec Group agreed to buy Tanganyika Oil, a small producer of heavy oil in Syria, for $2 billion in 2008.[2]
