Société du Patrimoine des Mines du Niger (SOPAMIN) was created following the introduction of the Nigerien Mining Code 2006 to replace the National Office for Mining Exploration (ONAREM) as the Nigerien state's mining assets company, and thus holds stakes in a number of joint mining ventures.[1] SOPAMIN was also made responsible for the marketing of Niger's minerals.[2]

In the uranium industry, SOPAMIN has stakes in COMINAK, SOMAIR and SOMINA. In the gold industry it has a stake in Société des Mines du Liptako.[3]
