Ugandan Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development (MoFPED)

The Ministry describes it mission as to "formulate sound economic policies, maximise revenue mobilization, ensure efficient allocation and accountability for public resources so as to achieve the most rapid and sustainable economic growth and development."

It is called for by the Constitution of 1995 and its mandate is to formulate policies that enhance stability and accelerate economic growth and development, to plan and design growth strategies, to mobilise resources, ensure efficient allocation and utilisation of public funds and to monitor and account for the utilisation of public resources.[1]

As of December 2012 the Minister of Finance was former World Bank economist and radio station entrepreneur Maria Kiwanuka.[2]
