Overview

Vanoil is a Canadian oil and gas exploration company with a focus on East Africa.[5] Founded in 2009, Vanoil is the successor of Vangold. In March 2013 Vanoil bought out Avana Petroleum, thereby gaining further assets.[6] Vanoil holds assets in Kenya, and through its takeover of Avana Petroleum it has also acquired holdings in the Seychelles.[7] Vanoil also has interests in Rwanda, although the company has recently become involved in a dispute over agreements with the Rwandan government.[8]

Vanoil is not an EITI supporting company.
